Special Olympics Maryland - Summer Games 2016

Hello my sisters and brothers in Christ!

I pray you and yours are doing well. I am doing well, thanks to my good, good Father in Heaven! Last Friday, I volunteered at the first day of Special Olympics Maryland's 2016 Summer Games held at Towson University. As a SOMD volunteer, I always look forward to serving at the various events because I love the energy of the athletes along with their coaches and family, as well as how kind the other volunteers and SOMD staff are. Cheerleading was the only competition done on that day, and volunteers helped set up for that event as well as do various tasks during the competition. I was also stationed to help with setup for the track and field events.
June 14 - HAPPY FLAG DAY!
In the 3 days of the Summer Games, participants include: 1200 athletes, 400 coaches, 225 unified partners, and 500 volunteers. Besides the cheerleading competition, other competitions held were bocce, softball, track & relays, mini-javelin, high jump, long jump, pentathlon, shot put, softball throw, standing long jump, tennis ball throw, and aquatics. Later in the day on Friday, the Opening Ceremony was slated to take place along with a Block Party.

As usual, I applaud the awesome work Special Olympics Maryland continues to do, as well as the other dedicated volunteers who serve with love and purpose. I am proud to be associated with this awesome organization! They encourage the youth and all athletes to be their best self and to embody sportsmanship at best! That's what mentoring is about!

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Philippians 2:3-5
God bless you.
Jesus loves you.

Restored woman living for God's Glory,

Have you given your heart to God? Have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savior? If you die today, will you make it to Heaven? If no or you are unsure, do not waste any more time and receive salvation now.
